America Rising 2 Update 1.1.7 and Console Crashing

Update 1.1.7 for America Rising 2 - Legacy of the Enclave is now available, alongside a workaround for console crashes.

As of today - America Rising 2 - Legacy of the Enclave update 1.1.7 has launched on all platforms with general bugfixes and optimizations.

Crashes on Console

As folks might be aware, I have been investigating America Rising 2 crashing on the Xbox One for many years, and more recently, it crashing on PlayStation 5. With the help of my friends at Kinggath Creations, we’ve discovered that Fallout 4 currently has a severe bug which causes it to ignore any FaceGen .nifs (an optimization system the game has to reduce the load on the game from NPCs) that mods come with. This means that custom NPCs are particularly difficult for the game to handle, especially on console. Any location that has more than a few custom or edited NPCs will likely lead to a crash.

The issue is present on all platforms but for some reason it affects Xbox One and PlayStation 5 the worst.

The Console Crashing Workaround Patch

No proper fix is possible from modders on console, this will have to be fixed via an update to the game. Until that happens, I have created the Console Crashing Workarounds Patch for consoles.

This workaround patch makes most generic NPCs in America Rising 2 use vanilla faces, and it also makes optimizations to the head meshes of the unique NPCs to try and reduce the load on consoles, which should significantly reduce crashing in America Rising 2 locations.

If you have been experiencing crashing on Consoles in America Rising 2, please update America Rising 2 to the latest version and grab the Console Crashing Workarounds Patch, which should help.
