Bethesda.net Page Changes

Bethesda.net Page Changes

The majority of my Free Creations for Fallout 4 and Skyrim have had major page changes on Bethesda.net

As you may know, as of Skyrim & Fallout 4’s Anniversary Updates, Creations’ pages on Bethesda.net can actually support multiple platforms.

This means that, while before there were seperate pages for PC, Xbox and PlayStation - you can have them all on one page.

And as of right now, I’ve combined all the different platforms’ pages for all my free Creations!

Explanation of Changes

What’s changed?

  • All the PC-specific pages for all my free Creations on Bethesda.net have been deleted
  • The PC versions of my free Creations have been uploaded to the Xbox-specific pages
  • The Xbox-specific pages have had [XB] removed from the title, making it clear they are now multi-platform pages

What does that mean for me?

This only affects PC users:

  • Any links pointing to the old PC-only versions of my Creation pages will no longer work
  • If you installed a PC version of one of my Creations from their old page, such as America Rising 2, your load order will show the name of the plugin instead of the name of the mod - and it won’t show its banner image
  • If you re-install the game and load a cloud save, the Creations menu may not be able to automatically re-download the mod - this will only be a problem the first time you try to load that save, as after you manually download it from the new page you’ll be able to continue as normal
  • If I release an update for a Creation and you haven’t (re)downloaded it from the new page, you won’t be notified in-game that an update is available

What isn’t changing?

  • The availability of my free Creations - they will all still be available as before, just from different links
  • Xbox users won’t notice any changes at all, aside from no longer having to find [XB] in the title of my Creations any more
  • Nexus Mods pages aren’t affected, my Creations will continue to be on there as normal
  • The content of my Creations isn’t changing either, you’ll simply be able to get either the PC or Xbox versions from the same page going forward, as opposed to switching between different pages
  • Your saves - me deleting the Creation page will not affect your saves or your installed content. If you have one of my Creations installed from their old page, it’ll still remain installed

Why the change?

I could have left everything as it was, but I have over 50 different pages on Bethesda.net and it was becoming very time consuming maintaining them all. This change effectively halves the number of pages I need to keep up to date, and keeps things consistent with newer Creations which are on combined pages anyway.

Affected Creations

Skyrim: Special Edition

Fallout 4

You can find the latest links to the above Creations, as always, on the Otellino Mods website.
